Fused Glass

Arlene Phillips (Southern Yankee Glass) Through the glass fusing process, Arlene Phillips produces a variety of artwork that can be used for decorative and functional purposes. She has been fusing glass for many years and is always learning new ways to improve or combine different techniques into her pieces.
Imperfections in the glass including bubbles, wrinkles, depressions,
lumps, bumps, and cloudiness cause variations in each work of art,
making no two pieces ever alike.

Custom Metal Works

John Costa BlacksmithJohn Costa (Watson Springs Forge) Born 150 years late, John Costa would have been right at home within the walls of a frontier blacksmith shop. A "master tinkerer" at heart, he has perfected his craft for the last 30 plus years as owner of Costa's Cleaners in Watkinsville, Georgia. John made his first knife at age eleven and has been an active knifemaker for the last fifteen years. As a blacksmith John has concentrated his efforts over the last several years on creative ornamental iron work.

Combining Fused Glass and Metal to create artistic lighting fixtires for home and commercial use

Arlene Phillips and John Costa combine their talents and craftmanship by producing artistic lighting for home or commercial use. There is power in the contradictions of their crafts. Glass is beautifully delicate, daring you to look at its brilliance. Metal stands bold and resilient, a testament of its strength. Each alone has its own limits, strengths, and weaknesses. Either metal or glass has the capacity to make a statement. However, when paired together, a piece of artwork is created that defines what it means to be both functional and breathtaking.
